Hair Extensions....?

Yes, we all know that we as black women like to wear weaves and wigs to enhance the length of our hair, have a quick and easy hairstyle, and to let our hair rest from chemical treatments, but I have been noticing that white women are getting into the trend also. I think they look nice on both, but why does it seem like it's the brunt of jokes and put downs when the black women wear them, but when the white women wear them there's barely any comments. Does it seem more okay for the white women to wear them than the blacks? Why is it viewed as such a bad thing if their worn? I just don't understand the difference.

Hair Extensions....?

People that criticize are just jealous that some can pull off the look and others can't. Don't sweat it, as they are the ones losing out by not using the extensions. They look wonderful, and definitely add a great look to the wardrobe!

Hair Extensions....?

hey what

Hair Extensions....?

I dont think it is a bad thing for any woman....black women used to be teased for having "weaves" but it is so common now that nobody says anything about anyone...if they do, they are morons

Hair Extensions....?

This is an obvious question. Because black women are unfairly made the joke of everything. Strive to change this the way I am trying to change it, and be strong, sister.

Hair Extensions....?

i think because the hair texture of weave is made similar to that of a white woman, when a black woman wears weaves and extentions, it seems as if she's trying to emulate the white woman. since white women already have that texture of hair, and if they wanted that length, they could just grow their hair out, when they wear weaves it they aren't viewed as imposters, just a style choice.

and FYI, i'm a black woman myself. and i still think black women look rediculous with long flowing tresses when they know they have nappy hair. so yes, they are imposters!! you don't have white peoples hair!!! get over it!

Hair Extensions....?

because you'rs are more fake looking. white people have naturally shiny and silky hair, so when you blend white ppl hair with fake extentions, you can't tell and it looks more natural and believable...but we all know that black people hair is stiff and brittle. when you see a black girl walking down the street with lustrious locks all flowy and long, you KNOW it's fake because black people are just not that blesed in the category of hair.

Hair Extensions....?

YES I AM A BLACK WOMEN MYSELF AND I HAVE HARD OF IT TO, BUT AS HAIRSTYLIST, MAKEUP ARTIST,STYLIST AND FASHION DESGINER.I CAN TELLTHAT WHITE WOMEN MAKE SURE THERE HAIR LOOK REAL ,SO PEOPLE CANT SAY ANY THING ON THE OTHER HAND MOST BLACK WOMEN HAIR DONT

Hair Extensions....?

Because of people that promote stereotypes, because I read the same comment about all black people having "nappy" hair. Which is completely false, a stereotype carried over from Slavery days. Those days are long gone! People are under the impression that all caucasian women hair grow longer naturally and quickly. Out of ignorance people believe stereotypes. I also read a stereotype that the lighter a black person's skin is, the better their hair texture is. HA!HA!HA!HA! It's a stereotype that black women have short nappy hair. I am a dark skinned black woman and have always had long hair, and received compliments. I don't have to wear weave, it's a choice. Many caucasian women wear hair pieces, and extensions. In the end black or white, we all want to look and feel our best.
