How do you insert a weave?

I'm getting my hair done, butdon't know how to sew the weave on the braids

How do you insert a weave?

honey dont listen to these peeps who tell you not to wear weaves...they keep talkin about be real, then you should tell the white peeps to keep it real and stay out of the sun so much tryin to be black....keepin it real means they will stay white....wear as much weave as u want to girl,,, screw them

How do you insert a weave?

And for everyone else, not everyone is luck to be "natural" and wear their hair out. For some keeping your hair in weave keeps it protected as it is braided and still allow you to enjoy loose hair. Report It

How do you insert a weave?

stop being so black. a weave is ghetto

How do you insert a weave?

some glue it in then some people put it through the rubber band

How do you insert a weave?

sew the weave track directly on the braids so that it wont fall of.

How do you insert a weave?

i dont wear weave, i wouldnt know, weaves are so fake, be the real you. natural is so much better

How do you insert a weave?

If you don't know how to sew it on, then go to a professional hair stylist.

How do you insert a weave?

well if you want to sew it in you have to braid your hair to the back and sew the track in with a needle or if you want to glue it in just part your hair and glue it on the part!

and for the dumb *** who said weave is for black/ghetto people your a ******* idiot!

How do you insert a weave?

Please don't put a weave in your hair. Weaves, braids and shreds are not for you if you want your hair to remain healthy in the long run. If you give your hair good maintanence it will grow properly and look nice.

Hair vitamins?

Are there any vitamins especially formulated to make your hair grow?

I am black, my hair is natural no chemicals or weaves.

I am getting married in 9 months and would love this sort of hairstyle on my big day:

http://z.about.com/d/beauty/1/0/8/I/alic...

or more like this, as I tend to wear my hair in an afro

http://www.sonybmgnews.de/PARI/KAT/DOCU0...

I keep my hair in braids to help it grow

Any tips?

Hair vitamins?

Hair is primarily protein. So make sure you are getting, at least, 4 small servings of protein rich foods a day. Fish, poultry, meat, eggs, nuts, seeds, or beans.

Dairy products are also rich in protein. Milk, cheese and yogurt.

Make sure your braids are not too tight. That can cause breakage.

Hair vitamins?

ive read that prenatal vitamins work wonders.

Hair vitamins?

use coconut oil sleep in it as much as you can tie a plastic bag round it it will grow and look lustrous

Hair vitamins?

Like your skin, your hair reflects your general health. Eating properly has an effect on your hair but I find this stuff quite good too (hairdresser recommended it!)http://www.salonsdirect.com/productdetai...

Hair vitamins?

prenatal vitamins supposedly help hair grow in very shiny.

Hair vitamins?

I use 1/2 an avacado 1/2 a banana %26amp; 1/8 cup coconut oil and leave it in my hair with a shower cap, suran wrap or garbage bag on for anywhere from 15 min to and hour. This makes you hair very smooth and shiny. I do this once a week. Also I'm sure you want glowing skin for you wedding so try rubbing salt all over your body in the shower once or twice a week and then use lotion all over after that. (Even celebrities do this!) I know that vitamin B5 helps hair growth %26amp; get lots of protein also. Hope this helps!

Hair vitamins?

Continuing to wear your hair in braids or naturally will help, but you MUST condition your hair every time you wash it. This will contribute to hair growth. I use Jane Carter Solution shampoo and conditioners. I lost about half of my hair 2 years ago, but since using Jane Carter, my hair has filled out considerably, almost to the thickness it once was. Good luck.

Hiar color matching to weave!!?

Hi Out there! I bought the brazilian wave bohyme in the #27 and now Iam wondering what color should I dye my hair to match it ( I am planning to leave a small portion out). I foumd 2 color charts with the #27 :

http://www.hairandextensions.com/Color_C...

http://www.esthersonline.com/retailer/ar...

I think the reason they look so different is just because of the lighting on them. I think the second color chart listed gives a more accurate look. But then again, don't know. so any help would be greatly appreciated!!! Thanks in advance!

Hiar color matching to weave!!?

The reason why they look different is due to the fact that most websites use only one color chart for all the brands they sell so it may not be the official color chart for what you just bought. Plus, The color on the computer may not be the same as in real life.

It's easier to dye your hair and then find extension hair to match than the other way around.

I know that a level 7 honey blonde shade will be able to match the extensions perfectly....

Look through the these different haircolor here on the Clairol site.

http://www.thecreativestudio.com/main.js...

I'm pretty sure that Clairol Jazzing in Creme Soda will most likley be the best match....you'll have to lighten your hair before using it.

http://www.thecreativestudio.com/dispens...

You can use Clairol 7th stage with 1 activator packet and 20 volume creme developer to lighten it....you can use this on relaxed hair (if it is relaxed) Click the Lighteners tab to see it....all of these are availible at a lotta beauty supply stores and Sally's.

Good Luck!

Hiar color matching to weave!!?

well...since i have a hint that your'e black/african american {not sure...}...with that hair color i'd suggest you'd use dark and lovely chestnut brown/blonde and make sure you use a booster...to achieve the lightest shade possible...you should go to a stylist of course anyway...but if you cant...i guess that^^ or a sandy brown would do...its a pretty hair color though for sure...anyway don't ever forget to do a strand test before you do it...and don't leave the color on because you don't think its light enough! it's always lighter and brighter when its dry!!

anyway... good luck on your new fab hair color!!!

Hiar color matching to weave!!?

How about you dye your hair first a color that you like and then find a weave to match it. I'm pretty sure you will find a color to match your dyed hair easily. There are different brands of hair. If you by #27 in one brand it may be lighter or darker than another brand so you will have to shop around. Or if you decide to do it your way, take the weave to your stylist and I'm sure she can mix up something to match the weave color.

Hiar color matching to weave!!?

Have your stylist look at it before they do anything. They may be able to add the weave so it looks like highlights or that you have two colors of hair (and it not look a mess). But I agree with the person who said that you should have found the weave after your hair color.

Natural black hair styles.?

im 19 years old and ive decided to stop getting relaxers and go natural. most of my hair is natural now and i usually just blow dry and straighten it. I havent had natural hair since i was little so im too old for pigtails. any tips on how i can wear my hair? Plus i have very thick hair that grows fast. Id like to keep my natural hair long without having to wear weaves or twists or dreadlocks. any tips???- also what products do a lot of you black women use in your hair?

Natural black hair styles.?

Hey there!

I'm natural too!

But I wouldn't suggest some of the suggestions these people have given!

I invite you to ask this same questions at 2 hair care forums:

Natural black hair styles.?

Why dont you try natural looking curls or waves? not tight curls but try styling your hair with loose curls to waves?! i think that would look really nice especially with black hair! :D Xx

Natural black hair styles.?

Go with a moderate length fro cut; tres sexxy and glamorous. Or braids. It all depends on your personality and style

Natural black hair styles.?

Basically your going to have to continue to blow dry it if you want it straight or use the straighten comb. Use plenty of mosture - the pink oil is pretty good when I wear my hair natural. Also if you have naturally curly hair you can put a texturizer in it to keep the curl active.

Hair Crisisss!?

I've had a short hairstyle for three years!

The first year when I got it cut, my hair was in pretty bad shape. It was uneven and breaking because I didn't know how to care for it correctly.

I had to get it short. But I liked it then. And I went to the salon regularly to get it relaxed and conditioned. It was shiny---kinda like Judge Hatchett's! For some dumb reason, I got it cut because I didn't like the length it had grown out to. Those days I wasn't up for weave so I thought I couldn't do anything with it. After I cut it, I started going to the salon less and less. I noticed my hair had lost its shine. Since the beginning of this year, I haven't been to the salon. For a couple months I just let it sit there! But now I'm using boxed relaxers [which I don't like.] Still, a mixture of me not knowing what exactly to put in my hair, me letting it go for so long, and stress are getting to it.

1. What is a good weekly/monthly routine for black hair? Including all the hair products

Hair Crisisss!?

Palmer's has an Olive Oil Formula Hair Conditioner that will really work on keeping the shine in your hair as long as you use it everytime you wash it and keep your ends clipped...you only have to use it once when you wash it and it stays until you shampoo it out...

As far as hair care--I recommend you wrap your hair, because it's short---get a good flat iron and straighten it really good and just wrap it before you go to sleep at night--it'll keep your hair straight and you won't really have to do too much to it when it's time to style or put that much heat on it--it'll already have a little bump to it.

I wash my hair with the Optimum Oil therapy shampoo and conditioner. It smells good and it doesn't leave that weird film on your hair, like some conditioners do.

Hope you get some more good advice on keepin that hair healthy and shiny!!

Hair Crisisss!?

u idiot go 2 the ******** salon!

Hair Crisisss!?

There is no set routine for black hair. Your individual hair texture and condition of the hair will dictate what maintenance you need for your hair.

A good web site/forum to visit is called Black Hair Media Forum. It's hair care and beauty information for women of color.

http://forum.blackhairmedia.com/default....

On the site you can learn all about what kind of hair texture you have and the best way to care for it from other members who have experience with their own hair. It is not product affiliated. It's simply a group of predominately black women sharing hair care strategies.

I am a member and have used the advice from the site to transition from relaxing my hair to going natural to learning how to care for my hair in it's natural state (curly as opposed to straight).

I've gotten recommendations on products and hair care routines and ultimately found a mix that works for me.

Hope that helps you!

Hair Crisisss!?

If your hair is anything like your avatar, you should wash ur every 2 weeks with a really good shampoo and conditoner. Olive oil products are really good and make ur hair really shiny. also if you u use a box relaxer, try the olive oi one. Using the entire line of a certain product works well. Also when you wash it, use a mousse foam wrap lotion and comb it down straight with a little of gel and sit under the dryer. Afterwards, comb it out and apply a silicon based serum, like biosilk. This will enhance the shine and protect it from heat. Flat iron or curl in whatever style you like. But I would leave that up to a stylists if u can't do it. But in between salon visits, try this.

Hair Crisisss!?

Try using Vitale Super Reconstructor Conditioner....it has menthol for dry itchy scalps. It will give you that shine that you are talking about. I use it weekly. It contains Protein, so it will aid in streghtening and growth. You can get it at any beauty supply. And drink that water girl...most of the time its the lack of it, that causes most of our problems from the top to the bottom.

p.s. I understand the financial part of it. I haven't been able to go to the salon in about 6 months. I have 3 kids and just couldn't keep up with it. But basically if you get a good conditioner and use mild relaxers. I think you will be okay until you make it to your appointment.

Good luck!!!

Can someone please teach me how to do my own quick weave or sewn in weave???

my hair is chin length and i dont know what kind of hair to buy how to remove it or apply it and i dont have the $$$ to get it done

Can someone please teach me how to do my own quick weave or sewn in weave???

For a first timer it will be very difficult to weave your own hair. You'll need to go to the store and get hair that matches your hair color. Usually you can ask someone for help and they will place the hair against yours and check the color. Human hair is best but more expensive so whatever you can afford. You'll also need to buy black thread (the kind for hair weaving) and the needle (which is slightly hooked).

The hair will already be threaded together on one side. After washing your own hair you'll have to braid your hair in very very small lines. Tuck ends under or use them to overlap already braided hair. Then you'll have to place the store bought hair over your own and use the needle and thread to sew the two together. The sewing can be done in any style you want. Just make sure you do it tightly.

Can someone please teach me how to do my own quick weave or sewn in weave???

I respect you for having the courage to ask that question. I don't hav a problem with girls with weave, and neither should anyone else

Can someone please teach me how to do my own quick weave or sewn in weave???

Just shave it

Can someone please teach me how to do my own quick weave or sewn in weave???

sewing in hair weave is no joke. if you dont do it right, it will look horrible. i recommend that you buy a "quick weave" basically it is like a wig, but you can clip it into the rest of your hair, so you dont have to worry about showing tracks. i know my description may not be so good, so look at this site, it shows the types. you can also go to your local beauty supply store, and go to the section where they sell hair and they will have a variety as well. the most expensive in those types of stores are around $50 and the least expensive can be about $15 dollars.

http://www.ebonyline.com/hawigquweeaw.ht...

i hope this helps

Can someone please teach me how to do my own quick weave or sewn in weave???

Ive been wearing 2 different styles of quick weaves/half wigs for the first time. All you have to do is leave a front section (bangs if you want) out, pull the rest of the hair into a bun or pin it down with bobby pins. Stick the comb of the quick immediately behind the section you left out, comb/brush the section you left out over the top of the quick weave and you are done. Its actually really easy, just dont get one that's outrageous different then the style you wear your hair in. They usually come with a tag attached that shoes the 4 easy steps.

What kind of weave does Leslie from the Bad Girls Club have?

I love that wild curly hair look, but i dont know what kind of weave that is. She has that hairstyle now on the Bad girls road trip.

What kind of weave does Leslie from the Bad Girls Club have?

It's Indian Weave, very expensive

What type of weave do I use for cornrows?

Im getting cornrows with weave for the first time...does anyone know which hair i am supposed to use? i know nothing about different types of weaves or anything. but i hope for one that will give me the best results! and are also long lasting! anyone think they can tell me which weave to use?

What type of weave do I use for cornrows?

Use human hair intended for braiding (not in a track) that's the best but you can also use synthetic and get pretty much the same results I use a synthetic kind for cornrolls, it all really depends on how good the person can braid and how you maintain them. Make sure you get some braid spray and wrap it up, refrain from washing your hair while they're in because that will create lil fuzzies.

Can someone please give me the names a couple of websites that show and give instructions?

on sew in hair weave?

Can someone please give me the names a couple of websites that show and give instructions?

There are many techniques to weaving hair. The most common way is for it to be sewn on to very small cornrows or the stylist can use a heating applicance to fuse the hair segment onto very small sections of hair.

To sew the weave hair, the hair must be braided into cornrows. The hair may also be braided into a zig zag shape to make things easier and quicker. The wearer may leave out a section of hair if she/he wants a part or half the hair weaved. So the hair won't appear lumpy, the hair is sewn horizonally across the head from one side to the other, starting from the bottom. If the hair is to have a parting, it's recommended that a weft of hair is glued as close as possible to part in the hair that separates the braids and the hair that the wearer left out. After those steps are finished, the wearer can have the weave hair cut or styled however he or she wants with her/his own hair blending in.

To use a heating appliance, individual strands of hair are used. Hair is sectioned out as if the client is getting skinny individual braids. The appliance is heated to the correct temperature. The stylist attaches a section of the human hair to the client's sectioned hair. Depending on the style, a half head of fused hair could take about 20 sections. A full head could use about 50 sections.

The heating applicance can cost from $100.00 upwards. It is highly recommended that a trained and certified stylist use this technique because of potential hair loss and skin burning from the appliance may occur.

Recently cold fusion extensions made of 100% human hair (no yak hair dilution) have been introduced. These hair extensions do not require any heating elements, as the intense heat used to apply traditional hair extensions may damage them.

Will you sacrifice comfort in order to look good?

like uncomfortable heels, panty hose, hair weave, etc.

Will you sacrifice comfort in order to look good?

Nope! If I'm uncomfortable then I won't be enjoying myself! You can look good and be comfortable at the same time so I don't understand why other women torture themselves! Men never do it...for a reason!

Will you sacrifice comfort in order to look good?

definitely... i can't tell you how many times i have frozen in the Chicago weather to look cute!!

Will you sacrifice comfort in order to look good?

hec yes i would! duh who wouldn't?

Will you sacrifice comfort in order to look good?

OMG for sure.

Sometimes it's not how you feel, it's how you look.

:)

Will you sacrifice comfort in order to look good?

NOPE. YOu can look good without all that crap.

Will you sacrifice comfort in order to look good?

nope..i'll stick to my jeans, t shirt.

Will you sacrifice comfort in order to look good?

40% of the time.

Will you sacrifice comfort in order to look good?

No... It's not worth it... If somebody is going to like me, they will like me for me! (And I'll be comfy! LOL)

Will you sacrifice comfort in order to look good?

hell no. like the other person said you can look good and still be comfortable. :]]

Will you sacrifice comfort in order to look good?

absolutely!!!

Will you sacrifice comfort in order to look good?

yessireeee.

ha, but its not a big deal, because when i do it,

i do it because i want to look good for MYSELF and its not like i change my whole style for a guy.

thats what i dont understand

Will you sacrifice comfort in order to look good?

If you don't feel GOOD then how can you possibly look GOOD.

Will you sacrifice comfort in order to look good?

yes

Will you sacrifice comfort in order to look good?

only on special occasions! Other wise hell no i would rather feel good than look better.

Will you sacrifice comfort in order to look good?

Yes I would..

Will you sacrifice comfort in order to look good?

hell no, but I don't look all that good to begin with

Will you sacrifice comfort in order to look good?

No i won't. Sacrificing confort (such as wearing the most hottest shoes %26amp; get blisters) is not worth it cause wouldn't that make my feet ugly with scars!? yeah. better stick with comfort. =D

Will you sacrifice comfort in order to look good?

I would... but I rarely do.

I'm not going to kill myself to wear 5 inch heels and/or a mini skirt to impress someone.

If I do anything that will be physically painful, it'll be for myself... to make me believe I'm beautiful and putting effort into myself. =)

Will you sacrifice comfort in order to look good?

sorry no...if it isn't comfortable to wear, I don't buy it. why should I be in pain or be uncomfortable in something. I have many things that I own that are super comfy and stylish.

Will you sacrifice comfort in order to look good?

girls and guys do it all the time

Will you sacrifice comfort in order to look good?

nope

ill stick with my jeans and tshirts

Will you sacrifice comfort in order to look good?

I think there always some compromise between between comfort and looking good. I draw the line at uncomfortable heels. If they are uncomfortable then they should not be in my closet. However I do have a number of very comfortable heels :)

Will you sacrifice comfort in order to look good?

Nope.

What is a partial weave and what is a quick weave?

Im tryin to figure out how I want my hair for my sweet sixteen and Im thinkin about weave buuut ion wanna pay $200

What is a partial weave and what is a quick weave?

hey highmaintenance a quick weave is when all of your hair is wrapped around to your scalp and the extensions are glued on to your hair without parting your hair the extensions are bonded on top of yours. Now a partial weave is when you are wearing your own hair but adding a few extensions for texture, fullness, or color. that way your hair will be parted in sections while the extension(s) are added by sewing them in or using a bonding glue.

What is a partial weave and what is a quick weave?

a partial weave is when they only highlight tie top and front of your hair....a quick weave is when you have a few foils places around your face

How does beyonce, fix her weave/ wig?

how do they fix with her own hair to make it look like her real hair? do they use glue/ do they bond it with hers/ how do they do it/ how long does it take on the haed? i have ugly stretch marks allover my body, bn using bio oil for months bt no change, what should i do to atleast reduce their appearance? my boobs are also sagging, what can i use to make them firm again?

How does beyonce, fix her weave/ wig?

beyonce have a weave that is called fusion. with that there is no glue or sewing used, so it looks natural. u can style it and do what ever you would do with your natural hair. it takes a several hours to do a fusion weave. to reduce stretch marks i suggest that you use cocoa butter, the stick or lotion one will do for your boobs i think that you should go and get probably measured.(most department stores and victoria secret do it for free) and get the right bra size.

How does beyonce, fix her weave/ wig?

Well she was Front Lace wigs and there is glue also you cant do anything about the stretch marks just use coco butter and about your boobs start working out that might help alot

Sewn in weave?

if i decided to get tracks sewn into my hair..do i have to get my full head done..or can i do just the bottom half..i want to know is that possible? has anyone done it?

Sewn in weave?

The part that you want done, they are going to have to braid it and then sew the tracks in... It will be OK as long as the hair on the top half of your head is long %26amp; thick enough to pull down over %26amp; hide the 1st row of braids on the bottom half.

Sewn in weave?

Yes, you can get just a half of your head done or even in one area where your hair is thining if you needed it. You could get a whole head. The key to weaving is matching the texture and color of your weave to make it blend naturally. The absolute last thing you want to do is sew in two tone colors of weave in your hair and two textures. That would be God awful. Good luck! :-)

Sewn in weave?

You can get just the bottom half done if you want a thinner, layered look. It is easier to blend in your own hair if you have a full head done though. If your hair is shoulder length or longer, then just the bottom half should blend pretty good. It's when you have boy-cuts and bobs is when you need a full head. :)

Sewn in weave?

its possible if you get a good relaxer at the top and sewn in at the bottom with the right length it should blend in. I`ve been wondering the same thing because i want a scene/razor cut but i want to add weave because i dont wanna cut my own hair. but anywhoo it works if you flat iron and relax your hair to blend it in

Sewn in weave?

Yes! it is very well possible! It's best to sew you can braid the back in a circle or you can do a rubber band method where you connect each peice of hair and once you get to the bottom the extra hair can hang. Sew the tracks on then just straighten the hair to blend it. I would advise only sewn in because bonding glue takes your hair out. My mother is a hair stylists and specializes in hair weaving and I've seen her do half weaves plenty of times! good luck!

Sewn in weave?

it's possible

Why do people say they want natural beauty, but adore celebrities who aren't natural themselves

especially guys. be the first to say no makeup, no hair weave, no perms...but then you see them drool over someone like beyonce, rihanna, j.lo, or jessica alba. its so hypocritical to me. how natural do we really want people? if half these girls didn't have the photoshop, makeup artists, or wonder products, would they look the same?

Why do people say they want natural beauty, but adore celebrities who aren't natural themselves?

I know what you mean. They complain when a normal person puts makeup on saying they look fake yet when a celebrity does it they are the same guys that turn around and go 'why can't all girls look like that?' Idiots.

Why do people say they want natural beauty, but adore celebrities who aren't natural themselves?

i have natural beauty =D. i dont adore those celebrities. they're as natural as cloned meat

Why do people say they want natural beauty, but adore celebrities who aren't natural themselves?

I know, I totally agree with you!

Why do people say they want natural beauty, but adore celebrities who aren't natural themselves?

I guess people lie.

Why do people say they want natural beauty, but adore celebrities who aren't natural themselves?

You got very good point there.

Like if you ask a guys, do you like it if a girl does a plastic surgery and all, most guys would says yeah he don't mind but just not to his girlfriend!

It's okay to look at other hot chicks and yeah the guys thinks those chicks are hot but 'still' they know that those are fakes. Of course a guys rather have a natural beauty of their girl, plus I don't think it would matter to anyone if they're in love, looks doesn't exist in real love, only in lust.

Thank you for asking this question.

Take care!

Why do people say they want natural beauty, but adore celebrities who aren't natural themselves?

Not sure what you are talking about, I like natural girls a little makeup is OK but less is more in my book. Supermodels are usually doctored up by a paint brush in magazines.

Why do people say they want natural beauty, but adore celebrities who aren't natural themselves?

I don't know. Most people lie, some of them decieve, others are hypocrites, but all have their own definition of what "beauty" and "natural beauty" are.

Why do people say they want natural beauty, but adore celebrities who aren't natural themselves?

Of course. It is a double standard. Guys are idiots in that way. They say they prefer natural beauty, but for the most part, they don't.

Why do people say they want natural beauty, but adore celebrities who aren't natural themselves?

Hmm....good question... I agree...I see those "celebrities" all the time in my bf's wallpaper....geez, they want natural beauties? that's so shallow to start with!! Is people ever going to appreciate inner beauty?

Why do people say they want natural beauty, but adore celebrities who aren't natural themselves?

not all guys do... but I hear ya. I think that they want two different things. For their fantasies, physical rompings, etc... they want the fake celebrities. They are physically attracted to them, but that's as far as it goes. When it comes to something deeper, like searching for a soulmate, they want a natural beauty because they know that the people who are more focused on other things (aside from look) probably have substantially more important and significant things to offer them. What it comes down to is figuring out what people say they want natural beauty for... And if half the girls didn't have all that crap, then no.. they wouldn't look the same AT ALL.

Why do people say they want natural beauty, but adore celebrities who aren't natural themselves?

how would you have it be, let me ask you could you afford the treatments and adoration these women have, or is it something that you could secretly be envious of, i am not disagreeing with you,

do you think such celebraties and art they support are more trouble than they are worth, are they a waste of time, to you??

but how would you have it be, how would you have society be, what are these people supposed to do with themselves??

Why do people say they want natural beauty, but adore celebrities who aren't natural themselves?

they are not natural but they are popular!

Why do people say they want natural beauty, but adore celebrities who aren't natural themselves?

I know what you mean. Well the reasons that i heard from guys and from most ppl actually is that they want to do stuff and whatever date hot girls but in the end they will settle down with a natural girl who in the morning doesnt look like a monster when she wakes up.And as for the drooling over celebrities-they do it bc well guys do like to look at pretty/hot girls and its just what they do-but most guys wouldnt want nething more thn to sleep with these girls.Guys in the end care about looks but if its a person they will be w.t for a long time/marry they will care about personality and wife qualities bc looks will fade eventually and no guys want girls tht are fake and have surgery-bc they are disgusted by tht

Why do people say they want natural beauty, but adore celebrities who aren't natural themselves?

The answer is in your question. People WANT natural beauty, but ADORE celebrities. Guys may drool over the women you mentioned, but they will never even meet them. The women they love are the ones they marry.

Why do people say they want natural beauty, but adore celebrities who aren't natural themselves?

The reason for this is people want the same thing: to be liked. The first thing people notice about other people is their looks. Then they get to know them better by talking with them and spending time together. First impressions are the first things others see, hear you say, and the way you conduct yourself. Models hold themselves in a way that screams, 'Yes I'm sexy and yes I know it.' This is self confidence, and people naturally congregate around people with self confidence. Some call it conforming, but it's just the natural order. Beauty is a desirable trait, celebrities get photoshop and makeup artists and professional stylists, so your first impression is, 'she's/he's beautiful.' It doesn't mean anything besides those people have professional help. So be confident in yourself and you'll notice people looking at you the same way. They'll be like, 'I want that!!' :D

Should I get braids or a weave or a partial weave?

I can't decide. I've heard that if you get sewn in extensions that you can't put your hair up in a ponytail, because the cornrow would show. Braids take so long and I'm not sure if they would fit my style. I have heard good things about microbraids, but heard they take a really long time. I also had braids way back I remember that they felt like sleeping on a rug. But, I had bigger braids in. I like the ideal of being able to wear a ponytail though. I hate to always have to get up and do my hair. That leads me to worry about getting extensions. Will partial be less up keep? Also, can I have a color different than my hair color put in for braids that will look like one solid color; my hair is black. Can I do the same with a weave? I don't mind having the bottom black and the top honey brown w/highlights or something a little funky like that for a partial weave.

I wear wigs now and I'm sick of taking my hair off at night. I'm trying to just grow back my hair.

Should I get braids or a weave or a partial weave?

It all depends on what condition your hair is in. If your hair isnt too damaged braids would be a great option if they arent done too tight. Make sure to have a consultation with a braider and they understand your concerns.

A partial weave would be a great option also. The overall question is finding someone that understands what you want and they want to help you maintain HEALTHY HAIR...style isnt everything if its damaging your hair.

Should I get braids or a weave or a partial weave?

for me, it doesn't matter if you have microbraids or weave it depends on where did u go to get your hair done. I have microbraids right now and I play basketball. it is much easier for me to take care of it. If you don't play any sports you can have weave and actually some people glue it wich I think its much easier for ur ponytail. I hope I help

Should I get braids or a weave or a partial weave?

my hair stylest does great track sometimes he glues sometimes hesews you can still put your hair in a ponytail and braid your hair any more to to track they put it on your scalp i think tracks are the way to go and you can change your hair color to when you get it

How do I get my hair like Ciara's?

I wanna get my hair to look like Ciara's.I want it to be staight, but when water touches it,it just gets wavy. I am black(I just have a very light skin tone). So my hair is thick, very curly(when water touches it), it's about shoulder length, and right now i just press it(with a hot comb. No, perms). So I would just like Ciara's hair, but I can't get a weave. Is this possible? Any suggestions?

How do I get my hair like Ciara's?

yes, you can. Answer to your prays, a flat iron. Preferably ceramic. I have the same problem. I'm black with thick curly hair. When it becomes wet you would swear i took a curling iron to it. But anyway, try a flat ceramic iron. Also get this straightening product called "straighten out by fx special effects" purple bottle found in walmart. very strong product. if you get a good hair dresser you will have the results you want. down side is because your hair is thick they will need to press it for a long time causing your hair to smell burnt and if you touch it up when your hair is dirty with gel or whatever, it will smell. also if you keep straightening your hair it will thin out because you are constantly straightening. Suggestion. do it once really good. touch it up when you seriously need it. wash your hair so that it can become curly again and don't straighten it for a week or two. letting it breath, then you can straighten it again. well try it out. good luck :-)

How do I get my hair like Ciara's?

Uhhh

I would just say to straighten it, and yes, like anyone else, it will go curly when it gets wet.

You could probably get a weave but it hurts like hell, seriously! Or even a wig, but i dont know how you feel about that! :S

You could bring a pic of Ciara to your stylist and see what they say, perhaps they could give you a trim or whatevs to make it Ciaralike!!

But the best solution (I think) is just to rock out your own hair and make it your own unique style!! Besides, do you know how many girls want and have Ciaras hair?!! Be original!!!

Bootz weave?

Does anyone know what kind of hair "BOOTZ" on Flava of Love #2 wears? If you saw the episode last night it was silky straight then full of curls within the same night. Its beautifu!

Bootz weave?

Hey Everyone, She was on the radio in NY and stated that her hair was Brazilian hair purchased at a place in Cali. It ran about $500 for the full head. There is also the Remy Indian that is almost as costly. It too curls when wet and can be colored and permed!

Bootz weave?

i don't know but i like it too. It get's curly when it's wet or something

Bootz weave?

I sure it's real hair weave... you can't curl or iron out synthetic hair...I didn't look close enough to see if maybe she had on a wig

Bootz weave?

Weave that cost a lot of money but i don't know. It is beautiful thought i love it.

Bootz weave?

I'll admit her weeve looked great and i loved the straight to wet/curly look she had going..

BUT

I'll be damned if her edges are not ate up.. That poor girl's hairline has taken a beating.. She needs to lay off the relaxers and weeves for a minute to let her real hair recover. She's hella bald and damaged around the sides.

Question for black men: to Weave or not to weave?

I love my natural curl but it seems like all the guys around me are going for sistas with white people hair!! its frustration that in or to get a man you have to be or look like something your not! sorry just venting here.

Question for black men: to Weave or not to weave?

I'm not a man but I am sure they all enjoy the process of running their finger through a womans hair and not getting their fingers stuck.

no offense doll.

Question for black men: to Weave or not to weave?

I think your right. How can you say your proud of your race yet feel ashamed of your own hair.

Braids destroyed my hair!?

ok...i had braided weave*sewn* and now that i took it out, my hair has dreaded up or Something in the back!! cant evn attempt to comb it! any adv on how to keep me from having to lop it all off?( no i dont want to do the britney thing..) thanx

Braids destroyed my hair!?

If you don't have anything else, use Extra Virgin Olive Oil (EVOO) to help in the re-orientation.

Take your time.

"Dreaded up" is a first cousin to felting. I'm a spinner. With enough patience, felted hair *can* be made sleek again.

Braids destroyed my hair!?

use a conditioner and start from the bottom then work your way up

Im a fake???but i don't feel comfortable or pretty without all this fake stuff. so how much is

okay so here it goes. i really dont feel comfortable without all my this FAKE STUFF

*i have a hair weave

*i cant go anywhere or let anyone see me without my foundation, mascara and eyeliner.

*i suck my stomach in

how much is too much?

Im a fake???but i don't feel comfortable or pretty without all this fake stuff. so how much is to much?

You are not a fake. If you like a hair weave, then use it. Personally i don't wear makeup. Many guys like girls who are natural and don't cover up. Many girls love make-up to bits, and if you do then wear it. It's okay to suck your stomach in, but not all the time. If you really want to be skinny, go on a diet. But don't be too skinny!! LOL. You don't need to be pretty to get guys. Some guys like girls from the inside, and not the outside. Dylan Sprouse stated that he likes a girl who is natural.

One of the most important things is be yourself and don't try to be something you not. I moved from a cheep school to a rich school last year, and something about me changed. I suddenly wanted to be popular, rich, and get a Coach and Dooney. I soon realized that i don't need to be like that and if the popular girls want to be my friend then okay. Put if they don't who cares. If you try to be popular, you'll just lose some of you friends and be a wanna-be.

BE YOURSELF

Im a fake???but i don't feel comfortable or pretty without all this fake stuff. so how much is to much?

vain

Im a fake???but i don't feel comfortable or pretty without all this fake stuff. so how much is to much?

Definately hunny. Trust me be yourself and love yourself for who you are. If you're doing this for someone you don't need it. They should love your for who you are,

Im a fake???but i don't feel comfortable or pretty without all this fake stuff. so how much is to much?

all that you just described is perfectly fine. i actually have more "fake" stuff than that lol. *hugs%26amp;kisses*

Im a fake???but i don't feel comfortable or pretty without all this fake stuff. so how much is to much?

I understand the makeup part, just don't be so worried about how you look.

If you've got it flaunt it.. ;D

You probably don't need the hair weave or the makeup, or sucking your stomach in. JUST BE YOURSELF!

-Megan

Im a fake???but i don't feel comfortable or pretty without all this fake stuff. so how much is to much?

well, none of that sounds that bad, but you know what they say: youth is wasted on the young; humans generally don't start feeling confident about themselves (without all that fake stuff) until their 30s or 40s, so it's just normal. at least you recognize it--that puts you ahead of the game. it's ok to pamper yourself and want to look nice just as long as you also know the real you.

Im a fake???but i don't feel comfortable or pretty without all this fake stuff. so how much is to much?

i dont think you should be worrying about your appearence that much, i mean your still young and growing up i think you should focus more on who you are and what you want to become.

I need help with my first weave!!!!?

Hello,

I want to try something new with my hair so I have decided on getting a curly weave. Does anyone know what type of hair I'm suppose to get or can anyone direct me on a good place to buy hair online?

here is how I want it to look:

http://www.beautyriot.com/article.php?id...

or like this:

http://img.timeinc.net/essence/images/20...

And does anyone know the best technique to use?

Thanks

I need help with my first weave!!!!?

Hi,

So there are many ways to achieve either of those looks. I recommend either getting a full sew-in weave with a closure or get the full sew-in and leave a little of your natural hair out.

First of all, you are going to have to get expensive great quality human hair like bohyme or goddess if you want it to look good. If you buy cheap hair, the curls will fall, shed, and eventually become matted together. Also, if you choose to get a closure piece...you need to get a lace frontal closure or something that is similar so that you can part your hair in different places and it looks natural.

And lastly, make sure you go to a stylist who knows what they are doing and they can give more advice like how to take care of your hair.

Here's a site that has a great selection of good hair ...

I need help with my first weave!!!!?

Being natural is the way to go.

I need help with my first weave!!!!?

I think you should use the sewn in weave technique. I have it and I used Jheri Curl. If you have a round face I don't think you should get no more than 10 in. I have 8 inches and it looks great. I have had it in for a about a month now.

What is the best weave to use that won't tangle?

Recently i got a sew in and it tangled like crazy. I used human hair called Pink Diamond. I just bought some Remi Goddess but then someone told me that Urban beauty - tangle free hair -works best. I am confused and i don't want another bad experience with my next sew in. Can someone please help me?

What is the best weave to use that won't tangle?

remi is the best kind cause that's what i use so go with remi girl remi

What is the best weave to use that won't tangle?

You are going to have to spend about $300 to get a weave that is of all the same hair, and that shouldn't tangle.

I need Wavy Weave Advice....?

Hello,

I am getting my hair weaved in on Friday and I want to get that wavy, Kelly Rowland/Hallie Berry type of wavy curl, what is the best type of hair to purchase that will continue to hold its waves, until the end. I was thinking of going with the Beverly Johnson spanish wave. Please let me know what you think.

Thanks

Quick weave???

how do you remove a glued in quick weave with out ripping out your own hair

Quick weave???

First off, you should NEVER glue-in a quick weave! That's why it's called a quick weave because you dont have to do all the extra stuff that you do for a regular weave. You should just leave out the front and/or sides of your own hair, stick the top comb of the quick weave in, brush the front part of your hair back and go.

But anyways, use baby oil. It wont harm your hair so don't worry about anything. You might have to wash your hair a few times to get the oil out but it works like magic. You can also use shampoo, conditioner or grease but it takes longer to get the glue out with these and they are not as thorough as baby oil.

Quick weave???

go to sally beauty supply and ask for something.

Quick weave???

You should massage oil into the glue. Dont pull just keep applying and working the oil into the attachment until the track slips out. The best type of oil is Oil sheen in an aresol can.

Quick weave???

baby oil would be the best choice.

I'm black and have a weave?

and my real hair is out in front and on the sides....my hair is extremely thick and is beginning ot become coarser and is noticeable in contrast to my weave. I'm at 3 weeks since my front and edges were last relaxed. Would it be too early to use a home kit to relax my hair?

I'm black and have a weave?

It's not really too early....But that's not really recommended. Your sides and edges are really sensitive and putting the chemical on them so often will make them break and dry your hair out even more. Do that as a last resort.

First, try using a flat iron, if it's too short, then use a curling iron. Use a product by Aveda called "Anti-Humectress" it doesn't have water in it so it wont make the new growth curl up and it'll keep it looking silky till it's time to get it re-weaved or taken out.

If you can't really grab the edges like you want, just go to a local beauty salon and have the stylist do it for you. She may even take the pressing comb and touch it up just a little. But the heat from her marcel irons should be enough. Yes, I know its a lot of heat, but heat vs. chemical...definitely better than the other. This should give you another week or too. Make sure you're putting a scarf on at night! Wrapping it prior couldn't hurt either.

If these options are absolutely negative. Then go ahead and get like a Pink Oil, Touch up relaxer. It's like $4-5. Mix and put it on the edges for only 15 minutes!!! Don't go over that. Condition it real well after rinsing and style as usual. But really try the other two first. Because think about it, when you take out the weave your edges will be straighter than the rest of your hair and you'll still need a relaxer and then you're double processing that section.....no nono.

I'm black and have a weave?

not really but you have to be very careful and if your weave is glued in and not sewn, for get it, make sure that you use a stronger relaxer than normal (if you hair is not colored) but leave it in less time that normal. make sure it is rinces out completely your may not like your results and your hair may come out! . or you should use a flat iron each day, that is what my daughter does.

Where do i get a weave?

How much would they charge me at a salon to..?

sew in hair weave.. i already bought the hair but i need someone to put it in for me..

How much would they charge me at a salon to..?

truly, it depends on the person and how good they are at it, or believe they are at it. I know it is a range from like 50-150, it should be cheaper since you have your own hair, but some people want you to but their hair. Look around first and check pictures and try to see their work before you get it done. There are some sew in horror stories!

How much would they charge me at a salon to..?

i had hair extensions for years, every method possible, from the salon to doing it myself. it really depends where you live, and where you go. your best bet is to call different salons and shop around. hair extensions in a single session have cost me from my own labor up towards $1,000 or so...just call around!

Some one please help me....my hair is dry, brittle and just wont gro past my neck...any gud products

Anyway i recently started putting a weave in it but the weave is no good either..it tangles up and looks horrible by the end of the week. Help me on good hair products and on what kind of weave is the best out there.

Some one please help me....my hair is dry, brittle and just wont gro past my neck...any gud products out there

Change your regular pillowcases for satin. Sleeping on satin pillowcases prevents tangles and knots. Your hair gets snagged on the cotton fibers all night. This gives you bedhead, knots, split ends and breakage. On satin the hair does not snag. It just slides around. You'll be surprised how big a difference it makes! I have very very chemically treated hair and I would always notice a slight difference when switching to a "better" conditioner but when I started sleeping on satin sheets, wow, it was amazing.

Some one please help me....my hair is dry, brittle and just wont gro past my neck...any gud products out there

redekon is good for dry brittle hair especialy if you dye it. but whutever thats going to really work for your hair wont be bought at normal stores, you need to go to beauty stores and they have the best stuff. good luck

Is there a weave that is wet n' curly instead of wet n' wavy?

I love the curly look but I also like the sleek look of kelly Roweland and i dont have any idea what kind of hair that is! if anyone knows pleeeze let me know! I want to know if I can have the best of both worlds! Im getting my hair done in a month please help!!!!!!Thanks

Is there a weave that is wet n' curly instead of wet n' wavy?

hey. kelly's new hair looks like it may be "french refined". it comes straight in the pack and once you wash it it becomes curly/wavy.. you would use a flat iron to acheive the straight look again.

Is there a weave that is wet n' curly instead of wet n' wavy?

i don't think. I think Kelly Rowland uses like that wavy hair that comes curled in the package already. its all curled up in a stocking in the bag. I use to buy it for ponytails. I kow that its very expensive because the package has about 1/4 of a regular pack of hair. I've never seen wet and curly weaving hair.

Is there a weave that is wet n' curly instead of wet n' wavy?

yeah

Is there a weave that is wet n' curly instead of wet n' wavy?

try the beauty supplys store

good luck!

I want to wear a weave ....?

I use to before I had kids but can't remeber which is better, glued, braided and then sewn in weaves. What is the best kind of hair to use (mine is already fine and long I just want to add length). How do people percieve weave, is it the in thing or is it fake right now. I mainly want to give my real hair a rest and time to grow, while adding some change to my life. I watch girlfriends, and videos so blame them for the influences

I want to wear a weave ....?

NEVER glue in hair! Real hair is always best! If you want to give your real hair a rest try braids or a sewn in weave would be best.Unless you know someone professional braids cost about$150 and a good sewn in weave can cost any were between $250-$700 Both will last you about 2months with wash and care.

I want to wear a weave ....?

Don't use the glue the chemicals from it will make your hair fall out. You should get it sewn in it'll last longer. Good Luck!

I want to wear a weave ....?

To me I would say your real hair is better but I know how that can be trying to do something with it becuase i have very long hair.I think braids are better ,you can keep them up a long time with out trying to do something with it.Sewn in weave is better but you may have to keep it up like trying to do it etc....Really get whats best for you!!!

I want to wear a weave ....?

Get the one where your hair is braided and the weave is sewn in. I heard that the glued-in ones pull out your hair when they are removed, especially if you have fine hair. Human hair is the best. Not sure how people perceive weaves right now. Anyway, if the weave is good enough, no one can tell it is a weave.

I want to wear a weave ....?

i used to wear a weave for a very long time and just recently stopped because i wanted a break. i found that sewing in the weave is more healther and it makes the hair grow because your hair is braided down. i had my hair cut halle berry short and wore it for a week because i didnt like it, so i started back wearing the sew in weave and now my hair is down to my shoulders! i highly recommend if you wear one u should get a sew in.

I want to wear a weave ....?

I had glued extensions for a while and my hair got damaged bad! I suggest the new extensions that they have They are clip in extensions! They are just like your regular extensions except you clip them into your hair its nice because u can put them in and take them out whenever you want and dont have to deal with expensive trips to the salon!Check out www.hisandher.com for some examples...And who cares what people think whether it is a in thing or not its all about what makes you feel good!

African American Sew-in Weave Disaster! Help??

This is my first time getting sew in weave. I am kind of nervous because the braids keep showing through my hair. I am constantly thinking about just taking it out, but school is in 1 day!!!! I don't want to look unbeweavably bad!!! HELP???? What should I do??

African American Sew-in Weave Disaster! Help??

TRY STYLING IT A DIFFERENT WAY, OR GET MORE HAIR IN TO COVER THE SPOTS.

African American Sew-in Weave Disaster! Help??

well, if you take the weave out, get a nice wig, cut off the top lining of it, and sew it into your braids, except for at the very top of the head where the root is and let your natural hair fall on it. It looks really real. i call it a wig-a-weave.

it's a sewn in wig. (be sure and let your hair on the root fall over the wig).

Who ever did your hair should be shot. You are not suppose to be able to see the braids. Try brushing it or combing. But honey I really think you should take it out and get it done by someone else because that's just wrong.

African American Sew-in Weave Disaster! Help??

If you have some hair left part your hair over the tracks, then glue another one on top. That should cover it up make it look thicker.

Weave questions... anyone know how to put in tracks so that you have an" invisible pony tail&qu

this is where you can wear the hair down or pull it into a natural looking ponytail. Do i glue the track in the middle only?

Weave questions... anyone know how to put in tracks so that you have an" invisible pony tail".?

you don't need to glue anything!! when you put your hair into a ponytail, leave a strand of hair out and wrap it around the ponytail holder until you can't see the holder, and tuck in the hair

Weave questions... anyone know how to put in tracks so that you have an" invisible pony tail".?

Hmm...the best way I know of is to put the tracks far away enough from your hairline that you can pull the hair straight back from the sides, and don't go any closer than an inch to your nape. I had to take out some of my tracks to pull mine into a ponytail, and that was the best way I could find to hide them.

You may need to backcomb your hair a little bit to cover the tracks in some places around the top of your head, though.

Will putting lotion on my hair ruin it? (pic inside)?

Ok so lately i've discovered that putting lotion in my hair every day before I go to sleep makes it smoother and silkier. I wash my hair every other day so it doesnt get greasy or disgusting. My question is will this ruin my hair in the long run?

I've heard ppl telling me that putting lotion on my face is bad but I put it on everyday and my face has gotten flawless because of the lotion and now i'm putting lotion in my hair.

Oh and i'm black so our hair is usually drier than most. And thats my natural hair. I wouldnt put lotion on a weave. ugh.

http://i25.tinypic.com/2s9x2lu.jpg

Will putting lotion on my hair ruin it? (pic inside)?

It wont ruin it in the long run but after a little while you might want to use a deep cleaner because, even thought you wash your hair every other day, there will be some build up with the lotion and it will end up actually dulling your hair. I know that doesn't really make sense since the lotion is putting shine into your hair but that's just what my hairstylist said about all hair products (lotion, hairspray, professional shinning products, anything).

but otherwise it's totally fine to do that.

and you're hair looks really awesome, btw!!!

Will putting lotion on my hair ruin it? (pic inside)?

yea should look fine

also try adding curl defining products as well to OOMPPH your hair

Will putting lotion on my hair ruin it? (pic inside)?

if it works for you than keep doing it. I like melted shea butter though!

Will putting lotion on my hair ruin it? (pic inside)?

I have had baby lotion in my hair since I was a child...NO it won't huurt it...

Glue in Weave?

Is it a good idea to cornrow your hair, and then glue in tracks on your scalp in between the cornrows? would this be less or more damaging to your hair?

Glue in Weave?

I think that would be just as much damage. And weaves are so damaging to hair already. Just get a nice cut with your real hair. It'll look better.

Glue in Weave?

that will really damage your hair

Is it weave or is it real?

why is it that black girls hair never grows fast enough? is there anything i can do to help my hair grow.

Is it weave or is it real?

prenatal vitamins work. tea tree oil mixed with a homeade leave in conditioner (apply a spray bottle of water and 3 squirts of the leave in conditioner and 2 drops of tea tree oil) drink a lot of water, and apply a olive oil lotion to your hair. don't apply gel and anything with petrolatum in it bc this clogs the pores in your scalp and does not promote hair growth. the reason why black girls have a hard time growing their hair is a) genetics or B) not knowing the proper products to put in their hair.

http://www.treasuredlocks.com/blhacafa.h...

Is it weave or is it real?

Keep it in braided styles to help it grow quicker or wash and keep trimmed and styled every two weeks......drink lots of water, take prenatal pills can help too.....

Is it weave or is it real?

Just keep it washed, and trim off the edges every so often.. it should grow fast

Is it weave or is it real?

i think you gotta be mixed with somethin for that to happen, or u have to know a good beautician or can take care of your hair really well.

Is it weave or is it real?

it may be your genes b/c all black girls hair don't grow at a slow rate. get a weave if that's what you want or just be satisfied with the hair you have.

I need help with fixing my hair color?

ok so i had it unprofesionally weave to add blonde to red hair, then i still wanted more blonde so i got the box and put it all over now i have blonde roots and still my hair is red. i think i need to strip it with bleach but not sure. i want to go back blonde the way i used to be.. can i bleach it if i condition it and then ad a toner???

I need help with fixing my hair color?

try http://www.haircolor.com or http://www.hairdye.com

also try http://www.hairquestions.com

I need help with fixing my hair color?

no you cant, you should have it chemically stripped which is more expensive however it doesnt work if you do it yourself.

it will also mean that going blonde will be easier because otherwise the toner will mix with your next hairdye, and isnt permenant so it will just make your hair patchy.

I need help with fixing my hair color?

you cant do it your self you should go to a salon and get it professionally done : )

I need help with fixing my hair color?

You should go Brunette! Because red hair will turn a gorgeous shade of brown!! Just make sure its quite a dark shade of brown as the colour will go alot nicer!

Hope this helps

I had long hair once upon a time should i keep wweave intil it grows back?

i had lon hair when i was younger and now i have short should i keep cutting and keep weave are b natural and let it grow back my hair is chin length

I had long hair once upon a time should i keep wweave intil it grows back?

why don't you get hair extentions?

I had long hair once upon a time should i keep wweave intil it grows back?

Hair extensions are actually really bad for your hair I hear. So says the guy from "What not to Wear." I had long hair for a really long time and I went straight from that to a stacked bob, now I am growing my hair out and am back to a little longer than shoulder length. I would say highlight or dye or change your cut to work at each length, but do as little as possible so it can be healthy and gorgeous when it gets to the length you want.

I had long hair once upon a time should i keep wweave intil it grows back?

Weaves are great for growing your hair as long as you do the sewn-in method and remove every two months or so to give your hair a good shampoo and treatment. If yur hair is natural (no relaxer) and you want a different look, roller set your hair with wire mesh rollers. this will give you a nice soft set like Joanne in that t.v. show "Girlfriends"

Price for a weave!!!!?

Ok tomorrow a neighbor of mine is going to put in a sewn in weave on for me , i bought the hair already and all the supplies that she will need. she is charging me 225 just to put it in, she says it's because im hispanic and it takes longer to do our hair than black hair, so my question is , is that a good price to pay or will i be overpaying, i've seen her work and it's okay, but will they charge less at a solon.

Price for a weave!!!!?

holy **** you are getting overcharged!

There's no time difference in braiding/sew-ins regarding race...she's full of it to get your money. Most people never pay over a hundred to get sew-ins! And most likely, she's not doing a full head of sew-in tracks, I'm guessing you're just getting it for fullness and length...so really you're only going to have about 5 tracks - most salons charge about 10 - 20 per track, schools charge 5. That's braiding and sewing in.

GO TO A SALON AND DON'T GET SCREWED.

Price for a weave!!!!?

if she's doin micro braids (really small ones) then it's an okay price. If she's just braiding your real hair and then sewing the weave in, then 225 is WAYYYYY too much!

Price for a weave!!!!?

Interlocking and sewn-in weaves are $225 and up, strand to strand weaves start at $800, but these prices include the actual hair weaves. I'd say go to a salon and compare prices.

Price for a weave!!!!?

You should call around to different salons and tell them you want a sewn-in weave, you are Hispanic, what your hair texture and length is, and see what price they give you. Understand that some salons may charge this or even more, but you're neighbor is not doing this in a salon, so i don't think she should be near this price range. It's true that it does take a little more work when doing Hispanic hair but i don't know about $225 worth. If you are a good stylist the differences in hair shouldn't matter. I personally would never charge that much. All i have to say is that for $225 your hair better be all that and it better last a good while. Be sure she's aware of that.

Are sew-in weaves good for African American natural hair?

I was thinking of a way to grow my natural hair without messing with it much until I get it to the length I want.

Are sew-in weaves good for African American natural hair?

YES! I wear sew in weaves quite a bit and my hair grows! However, make sure you have the ends trimmed every six - eight weeks, make sure the stylist does not braid your hair too tight (this could cause breakage, especially around the edges). In addition, continue to allow your hair to "breath" and use a good conditioner and moisturizer for your own hair. Last but not least, make sure that this is a licensed professional!

Are sew-in weaves good for African American natural hair?

yeah

Are sew-in weaves good for African American natural hair?

yeah alot of African Americans have sew in weaves

Are sew-in weaves good for African American natural hair?

Good? Not really, but not bad either. As long as they aren't too tight (red bumps on scalp) then it's perfectly fine for your hair.

Are sew-in weaves good for African American natural hair?

I would never expose my rabbit to anything unnatural. If bunny is losing "hare", kill it and eat it!

Are sew-in weaves good for African American natural hair?

It is not good but the best option. Adding false hair by sewing in weaves also creates stress to the hair by styling (toughing and pulling to style hair). It is good however that your hair is natural because permed hair along with sewn in extentions is especially hard to maintain. Most importantly, it is important that you condition and moisturize your hair (not the braids) to maintain its health and also consider its length of time (three months at the most). Bottom line is the best way to gain length is to grow it.

African American Women who attend the gym on a regular basis?

What is your hair care regimen? I have tried keeping my hair up in a ponytail so I don't have to keep heat in it (Curling irons, etc). Recently I cut my hair, thinking it would help. Now it is a worse dilema! I am a regular with a beautician and I get tired of her doing my hair and then it is a bushy mess by the end of the week (LOL)! Any suggestions? And this includes anyone with curly hair that can get untamable at times. What do you do to keep your hair in good shape after constantly working out? And a hair weave is not an option. Please don't suggest that. :)

African American Women who attend the gym on a regular basis?

If you have natural hair that's pressed straight like me: i know this sounds gross....but i promise it shouldn't weigh your hair down unless you have fine textured hair.....But add lots of hair grease to the base of your hair and all around the edges. Then pull a tight scarf around your head. This should help prevent sweating out your hairstyle.

If your hair is relaxed, definitely wash your hair after you exercise, the salt can be damaging and cause your hair to lose its sheen.

Or try braids.

Good luck with the search!

African American Women who attend the gym on a regular basis?

im british pakistani (asian) have you tried using a hair mousse, and leaving it there, it should tame it, i dont have the problem myself s i hope this helps :)

African American Women who attend the gym on a regular basis?

I use Beeswax, just alittle when styling keeps curls and fly-aways tamed.

African American Women who attend the gym on a regular basis?

i exercise with my hair down so it won't sweat because it will be airing out

African American Women who attend the gym on a regular basis?

I have the same problem. Except I don't go to the gym I exercise at home. I usually get individual's but like now, I don't have any braids so I just do my hair every two weeks. I do tie my hair down and put it back in a ponytail. But if you look at it, besides having braids, there is nothing else we could possibly do!

African American Women who attend the gym on a regular basis?

well my african american friend has beatiful straight hair while my other african american friend needs to get hers done every two weeks and she cant wash it

the one with straight hair sed all she did was use herbal essences dangerously straight shampoo

she doesnt work out alot so i dont know if it will help but i would give it a try

African American Women who attend the gym on a regular basis?

i used to use bees wax when my hair was natural but i use gel or jam now.

African American Women who attend the gym on a regular basis?

I used to run into the same problem.

However my hair has been natural now for over 10 years. There are so many natural styles..ie two strand twist and other low maintenance ones. My current personal trainer for example, wears her hair in tiny twists and it looks really nice.

I also get extension braids as there are so many beautiful styles available in braids.

I would suggest grabbing the latest copy of a braiding magazine and checking it out....

Help! I just burned my hair!? African Americans only please?

Ok, so I was hot combing my hair, for valentines day tomorrow because I took my weave out. And I BURNED my hair. What should I do?

Help! I just burned my hair!? African Americans only please?

im white but i go to cosmetology school. the only thing you can do is try to condition it or cut it off.

Help! I just burned my hair!? African Americans only please?

Ive done that alot too! Um, try taking a shower and see if that helps! Condition it alot!

Help! I just burned my hair!? African Americans only please?

YOU KNOW U SHOULD GO TO THE BEAUTY SALON AND LET THEM TELL U WHAT TO DO

Help! I just burned my hair!? African Americans only please?

You can put a track where you burned your hair and continue with your planned style. Remember to test the hot comb with a paper towel each time you get ready to use it in your hair. If you see any tan, brown or yellow on the paper towel, the comb is too hot and it will burn your hair. Also a ponytail or a french roll is a good option until your hair grows back.

Help! I just burned my hair!? African Americans only please?

go to buty salon

Help! I just burned my hair!? African Americans only please?

I also burnt my hair once, but with an actually fire (small one lol)

well, i did braids, to grow out the burnt part of my hair, if you going to do braids, always remember to moisturize your hair. Or, you could just cut your whole head, and have a new style. Or, you could condition, and moisturize it a lot, but this will take months for your hair to grow back, and I think it would be noticeable if you let your hair out. Before I did braids I always hair my hair tied up, because fortunately my burn was in the center of my head, so the pony tail hide it.

Next time, make sure the iron is not too hot

good luck!

Weave: What is the best brand to buy?

I really don't care if it cost alot.I'm looking for some hair that does not shed alot.I tried Zury and it is okay but I rather something with a little better quality to it.Is Remi a good quality hair if so what brand, works the best....

I go to hairsisters.com sometimes to get other people opinions but I want to know what you all think

Weave: What is the best brand to buy?

I have milky way in my head now and it sheads really bad, but my hair stylist says it all sheds. She told me next time to try remi or allthra? I'm not sure on the extact name, but it's supposed to be good.

Weave: What is the best brand to buy?

redken

Weave: What is the best brand to buy?

You are too funny! The best weave I have ever seen has been Janet Jackson. Hers look for real and that is what most girls should do make it look real. Beyonce look is very bad you can tell hers is not for real. S o if you do it do it right I do not like to look at some ones tracks.

Weave: What is the best brand to buy?

Remy is the best human hair on the market. I've bought all kinds of hair over the past 15 years and I find that Remy is the best. As the lace front wig take over, weaves and extensions are beginning to fade. Have you seen Beyonce's, Tyra Banks, etc, well they all wear the lace front wig. The lace front wigs are the best yet in hair fashion. Your hair grows like crazy because your hair is put to rest with no stress from pulling, braiding, etc. I specialize in lace front wigs and if you have any questions or further interest let me know. Good luck on your next selection of quality hair.

How can I make my hair look naturally curly?

I want my hair like this and I had it before but it was a full weave. It costs too much at my hair salon to get it again. Is there a way to make my hair look naturally curly without wigs or weaves. Is there somthing I can put in it that wont harm my hair?

http://www.skem9.com/layouts/layoutPics/...

How can I make my hair look naturally curly?

Get your hair twisted all the way to the back using a pomade by Motions. Get it in a style that you will like so you can where it for at least 2days and then take it loose and style how you want it. I've done it before. I hate gel and spritz, so you can use a light spritz by Dove or you can use the Pump it Up kind which most hair dressers use.

How can I make my hair look naturally curly?

AFTER YOU GET OUT OF THE SHOWER TOWEL DRY YOUR HAIR AND PUT MOOSE IN IT AND BLOW DRY ON LOW WHILE SCRUNCHIN IT UP WITH HANDS! ITS WORKS 4 ME

How can I make my hair look naturally curly?

Braid your hair in lots of small corn-rolls. in like 1 month take them out and it should look alot like the pic.

How can I make my hair look naturally curly?

You're beautiful as you are.

How can I make my hair look naturally curly?

try buying soft spongee curlers .

1st wash it then u put the curlers in at an angle depending on the type of curls u want . sleep on them and then u can take them out in the morning PUT A LITTLE MOOSE IN

How can I make my hair look naturally curly?

Go to a salon and get a perm. Make sure they use the biggest rods possible. If you're hair is naturally curly then just shampoo your hair, put mousse in it, flip your head over, scruntch your hair, and it should work fine.

I just got hair extensions (sew in). How do I minimize breakage when I remove them in about a month?

I was told that the longer they stay in, the more chance of breakage so I should take them out in a month, deep condition, and get them put back in. The whole point of my getting weave extenstions was so my regular hair would grow out of the relaxer. I want a more natural style that won't damage my hair.

I just got hair extensions (sew in). How do I minimize breakage when I remove them in about a month?

It depends on the type of weave that you get. Personally...I've been growing my hair for the past year using weaves....If you have let's say...."some good hair" put in your head and it's done by a professional those are really supposed to stay in for 2 to 3 months and care regimen should be told to you by the stylist...but if you save time and money and have someone braid your hair and you or someone else puts the hair in...it is wise to leave that for just a month. And all of your breakage concerns really depend on how well that you care for braids while the hair is in. Check the websites below they have a ton of resources and ways to achieve what you are trying to achieve. It's the black girls online bible......I now put in my own weaves..just get someone to braid it..and i've had no breakage this whole past year....

http://www.growafrohairlong.com/weaves.h...

I just got hair extensions (sew in). How do I minimize breakage when I remove them in about a month?

condition your hair and leave it in for a few mintes

I just got hair extensions (sew in). How do I minimize breakage when I remove them in about a month?

Keep your hair moisterized while the extentions are in. When they are taken out, make sure the person doing it only cuts the thread that was used to sew them in. Then follow the directions you were given. Deep condition your hair and then get them put back in.

How to get African American hair to grow???

I got a relaxer a while ago and it damaged my hair. i finnaly got it to grow back using right on curl products. Now i cant find that in the stores anymore and i need some tips on how to get my hair to grow. i was wearing a weave an that really damaged my hair. my cousin reccomended sage, and water mixed together but i think she was just kidding. can anyone give me any tips???

How to get African American hair to grow???

There are so many things on the market now you could use.Mane and Tail really works.Doo grow is pretty good also.I only relax my hair in the winter. In the summer,I use Wave Nouveau finishing lotion to keep my afro soft and curly. It doesn't have the hard and sticky feel regular gel does.

How to get African American hair to grow???

wash it and deep condition your hair every week..keep ends cliped ...do not use excessive amount of heat on your hair because it will damage your hair..but the best way to let your hair grow is to get it corn rowed or braided or sometin ....you should get kinky twist they are cute and they look good on every1

How to get African American hair to grow???

I'm in your same position and doing research as well. I would try looking at the Black Hair Media Forum under the hair growth section. The ladies there are good with coming up with chemical-free, natural solutions to growing hair. Good luck!

How to get African American hair to grow???

Your cousin was right about sage! Sage, rosmary, burdock root, and thyme applied to the scalp assist in hair growth. Like the previous poster indicated. Black Hair Media is an excellent hair care forum! ( http://forum.blackhairmedia.com/) Eating leafy vegetables (cabbage, spinach, romaine lettuce) along with a multi-vitamin and a hair vitamins such as the ones available at GNC- http://www.gnc.com/product/index.jsp?pro... will increase hair growth if taken in daily. Drinking an ample amount of water will help. For example, if you weigh 130 lbs you should drink at least (130/2)= 65oz of water which is equivalent to 8 glasses of water

You should make sure you are not putting too much stress on your hair, i.e. relaxing too often, too tight braids or too tight twist, or leaving weave in too long, etc. I'm sorry that the Right On is unavailable, I love the moisturizer myself. Here is a site where Right On products are available http://www.texasbeautysupplies.com/activ... If you are unable to purchase online, perhaps you can find the following products at your local stores Carefree Gold http://www.texasbeautysupplies.com/cfc20... or S-curl's moisturizer http://www.texasbeautysupplies.com/scu90...

Apply only a small amount of whichever moisturizer to the hair. Then, follow up using something to seal in the moisture such as Organic Root Stimulator Olive Oil Hair Lotion http://www.texasbeautysupplies.com/orros... The only product that I recommend from Doo Gro is the Triple Strength Hair pomade. It is the fuschia/purple one on the bottom right http://us.st11.yimg.com/us.st.yimg.com/I... It has a form of sulphur in it which aids in hair growth.

The probleming is not growing hair, but maintaing the hair we have. Do not overuse heat tools such as blow dryers, curling irons, straightners, etc. Wear a bun, braids, twist, or even a wig to grow out your hair!. Use wide tooth combs and wear a satin or silk bonnet at night to prevent hair from breaking.

If you have any other questions feel free to contact me!

How to get African American hair to grow???

The best product which really helped after my long hair broke off while I was pregnant is Palmers Hair Success and Treatment. Its seems pretty pricey but it is worth it. It comes in a small container and costs around $8. You should use it every night and believe me you're hair will grow back fast and thicker. You should also try and keep your hair naturally braided or with human hair as much as you can. Never use synthetic and don't put alot of heat to your hair such as blow drying. All of Dr. Michaels products are good too! Oh and I forgot my mother used tea on our hair when we were little and sometimes I still do. I tried it on my son's hair when he was a baby and he the back all out and it seemed to work but Im not really sure about the tea!.
