ok...i had braided weave*sewn* and now that i took it out, my hair has dreaded up or Something in the back!! cant evn attempt to comb it! any adv on how to keep me from having to lop it all off?( no i dont want to do the britney thing..) thanx

If you don't have anything else, use Extra Virgin Olive Oil (EVOO) to help in the re-orientation.
Take your time.
"Dreaded up" is a first cousin to felting. I'm a spinner. With enough patience, felted hair *can* be made sleek again.

use a conditioner and start from the bottom then work your way up
