I'm black and have a weave?

and my real hair is out in front and on the sides....my hair is extremely thick and is beginning ot become coarser and is noticeable in contrast to my weave. I'm at 3 weeks since my front and edges were last relaxed. Would it be too early to use a home kit to relax my hair?

I'm black and have a weave?

It's not really too early....But that's not really recommended. Your sides and edges are really sensitive and putting the chemical on them so often will make them break and dry your hair out even more. Do that as a last resort.

First, try using a flat iron, if it's too short, then use a curling iron. Use a product by Aveda called "Anti-Humectress" it doesn't have water in it so it wont make the new growth curl up and it'll keep it looking silky till it's time to get it re-weaved or taken out.

If you can't really grab the edges like you want, just go to a local beauty salon and have the stylist do it for you. She may even take the pressing comb and touch it up just a little. But the heat from her marcel irons should be enough. Yes, I know its a lot of heat, but heat vs. chemical...definitely better than the other. This should give you another week or too. Make sure you're putting a scarf on at night! Wrapping it prior couldn't hurt either.

If these options are absolutely negative. Then go ahead and get like a Pink Oil, Touch up relaxer. It's like $4-5. Mix and put it on the edges for only 15 minutes!!! Don't go over that. Condition it real well after rinsing and style as usual. But really try the other two first. Because think about it, when you take out the weave your edges will be straighter than the rest of your hair and you'll still need a relaxer and then you're double processing that section.....no nono.

not really but you have to be very careful and if your weave is glued in and not sewn, for get it, make sure that you use a stronger relaxer than normal (if you hair is not colored) but leave it in less time that normal. make sure it is rinces out completely your may not like your results and your hair may come out! . or you should use a flat iron each day, that is what my daughter does.
